Sunrise trip to Krippenstein + breakfast

As part of the "Obertraun Mountain Moments", you take the cable car to the Krippenstein summit, enjoy the sunrise and a delicious breakfast - well fortified, you can enjoy a day of hiking on the Dachstein Krippenstein which invites you to hikes (5fingers, Heilbronn Circular Trail, ...), mountain tours in the Dachstein massif, climbing in the via ferrata area or a chilled day on the top of mountain.

Note: Please arrive 20 minutes BEFORE departure at the meeting point (valley station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car in Obertraun)

Booking & tickets available

Booking / registration sunrise trip

You can book the sunrise trip and breakfast journey online on the booking platform of the Dachstein Salzkammergut tourist office. A booking / registration for the sunset rip with full moon at the tourist board is required!

Note: Registration is also possible directly with the holiday region - see contact details below.

Tickets available at the ticket counter

  • Tickets for the sunrise trip must be paid for at the ticket office in Obertraun on the day of the event.

  • Booking / registration with the tourist office Dachstein Salzkammergut is required in advance.

  • Do you have a Naturally 365 ticket? Please show it at the ticket counter to receive the discounted price.

TIP

World Heritage spiral

Tip 1: The best place to watch the sunrise is at the World Heritage spiral!

The World Heritage spiral is just a few minutes' walk from the Krippenstein mountain station (section 2).

Tip 2: The "blue hour" begins before sunrise, when the sky turns a deep blue colour and the horizon lights up yellow-orange.

Would you like to watch the "blue hour"? Be sure to look towards the Dachstein glacier, where the phenomenon is most impressive.
